Early Emotional Development Training Friday 23 March 2018

On Monday, March 19, 2018 –  Dorcas had an opportunity to provide training for workers with vulnerable children and social orphans of different age. The speaker of the Seminar, Andrea Harbinson works at Queen’s University in Belfast as a Music Therapist and former lecturer in topic of Music in Nursing and Healthcare at University of Limerick.

How do the early ages influence the future?

The human brain is hugely affected by life experiences. Stress  and trauma lead to important brain functions going off line, but change is always possible through positive emotions and reliable interactions!

Andrea lectured and led the discussions on the topics of Music Therapy in the Emotional Development of Children and the influence of the parent’s attitude towards children, in their early years, on rest of their life. There were 25 participants from all over the country, Chisinau, Balti, Rezina, Telenesti, Cimislia, Singerei and other ONG’s active in social sphere, especially with children from deprived families, or those with special needs.

Love is more than words…

Participants were able to learn about PACE attitudes by Dan Hughes, useful activities for healthy emotional development and share their experience of working with traumatized children. This seminar led to a better understanding of how the early ages of the children are important and impact their future. Also, the trainees learned how to approach traumatized children with love and care. They acquired practical ideas that can be applied in their programs.

Our partners are present in different regions all over the country. Together we can make a change in the live of over 500 children and their families. Our beneficiaries receive homework assistance, after schools activities, counseling and professional orientation for their future. It is all possible thanks to our partners and people who care for those near them.
